Roof Replacement at the Unicoi County Heritage Museum in Erwin, TN
Residence Roofing & Restoration, LLC recently completed a stunning roof installation at the Unicoi County Heritage Museum. The museum, a beautiful and historic home, required roof repairs, and we were honored to be selected as the contractor for this important restoration project after submitting a bid.
As part of the project, we installed all new roof decking throughout the entire roofing system. Due to the age and settling of the museum, the wrap-around porch presented a unique challenge. Several areas of the porch had a tendency to accumulate water, risking potential damage. To resolve this, we installed a pitched roof over the wrap-around porch, ensuring proper slope for water runoff while maintaining the porch’s structural integrity.
The house itself holds significant historical value. Originally built 121 years ago as the home for the Erwin National Fish Hatchery superintendent, it was exciting for us to contribute to the preservation of this important piece of local history.
While the roof installation is complete, we’re planning additional improvements for the Unicoi County Heritage Museum. These include renovations to the porch, windows, siding, fascia, soffit, and gutters. These updates will further enhance the museum’s beauty and functionality, ensuring it can be enjoyed by future generations.
We’re proud to have been chosen for this restoration project and look forward to the ongoing improvements at the Unicoi County Heritage Museum. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue enhancing this historic gem.
