Modified Roof Repairs Completed In Bristol, TN
When roofing homes, it is extremely important to know what materials are necessary for lower slope roofs.
We were called out to this beautiful home in Bristol, TN, to estimate roof repairs. The homeowner had active leaks throughout the rear patio roof and around two skylights. During our roof inspection, we discovered that the roof pitch of the patio was at a 2/12 pitch. The roof had dimensional shingles with felt paper underneath, and it was not up to code.
We proceeded by tearing off the shingles and felt paper. The damaged rafters and roof sheathing from the water damage were repaired. We removed the skylights and built up the skylight framing from 2″ to 6″ to ensure proper elevation and flashing. We then installed a double-ply base sheet with a self-adhering granulated base cap. The new modified roofing system was installed 6″ up the side wall of the siding and skylights. Finally, we installed new curb mount Velux Skylights to complete the roof repairs. The result? No more leaks for these homeowners!
